The team is in a protracted rebuild. You cant fix a decade of Bergevin stupidity in 2 or 3 seasons. Your continued suffering is both required and appreciated. Just try to do as much of it as possible in silence.

The team lacks depth . . . everywhere. As you said, this will take more time to fix unless a Panarin and Fox miraculously appear at the Bell Centre’s front doors and demand to play here. Highly unlikely.

Big picture, this team is having difficulty getting the balance right on how MSL wants them to play.
As I’ve said before, it’s not a given that MSL can impart his obvious playing smarts onto his own players.

Precisely, and it's not like Count is going to stop buying tickets or cancel his Centre Ice subscription in a fit of pique. He'll whine, but he will never stop feeding the beast. I 100% support HuGo taking as long as they feel it necessary for this team to suck. I'm not interested in half measures designed to get us a couple of token playoff games. I want Cups or top 5 picks. Losing sucks but I liked their game a lot better this time. More structured, less mental errors, but still lacking on the compete level. Forecheck needs to improve.

remember we have had top 5 draft pick four times in eight years, had a top 15 in Caufield, traded for a 3rd overall in Dach, got Newhook who was sixteenth, and are no better than 7 years ago. Not sure why you believe losing 5-10 more years (which will require replacing our top players) will get you your coveted cup
