My takeaway is I’m reading constant excuses for Monty. Watch carefully how many more saves Dobes makes on tips etc.

People miss it because he’s economical in his movement unlike the floundering fish that is Monty who puts himself out of position on many occasions. Compound that with his horrible puck tracking and you have the recipe for a bad goalie.

His job is to stop the puck and he just doesn’t do it enough. Five goals to win with him. Five.

At some point you have to realize he’s just not good and stop making excuses for him

Heck even last night when he made a couple of “great saves” he was out of position. It makes them look great but the truth is a better goalie would have had the angle already.

The guy sucks, our team is taking the next step and needs a 0.910-.915 starter. He’s not it.

If you already read and comprehend my posts, you would know that I agree with you. Just because I'm not throwing him under the bus at every chance I get doesn't change that.
 
Believe me, if it was every chance I get it would be more than this.

I'm frustrated with MSL and the organization as a whole over this idiocy.

After all the years of suckage this is frustrating? 😀 I called these first place problems. Kinda like first world problems when your team is really fucking good.

Dobes will not become the starter after just 20 starts, while Monty had 5 seasons with Marty. The fact that they're splitting games 50/50 is already great progress, and that's what you originally wanted, to reduce Monty's load. Take it as a win and be patient. If Dobes continue his work, and Monty keeps struggling, he'll make it inevitable.
 
Monty has sucked for five years.

Dobes may not be the guy but right now he’s infinitely better. Sure he’ll lose games but he doesn’t constantly need five goals to win.

Monty does not need to go, he needs to be more aggressive in net which he did this game, good on him. We all know that Monty is here until Fowler can take the reins. Dobes is the wild card, Dobes had a hot start last year and then had some struggles. Dobes mechanics are way better this year, I like what i see. I have no problem playing the hot goalie but give both a chance to rebound.

The mechanics don’t matter for Monty.

His rebound is subpar.

Sorry mate, I know you defend goalies, and you should all things considered, but you’re expecting Monty to rebound to a point that he’s just not capable of reaching.

Yeah he’ll have a good game here or there then have several bad games. He’s not a good goalie by NHL standards. He’s mediocre at his peak. .
