I’m not optimistic right now, I feel we’ll likely miss Guhle, Caufield, Newhook Slafkovsky and Monahan for large parts of the season as well.

Mony and Pearson need to be healthy by the deadline as they are trade bait

I wasnt hoping for much this year except some internal growth from the yutes and a clearer picture of who fits this puzzle longer term

Hugo has 1 more year to flush out the trash who wont be around

And flushing that toilet is the easy part of the rebuild. Anything HuGo doesn't take care of the calendar eventually does. The hard part isn't the tear-down, it's the build-back-better.

Hugo inherited a clustrfuk , a near complete tear down with no elite prospects

This isnt the NFL with immediate draft help and free agency to fill every gap

We dont need 15-20 years

5 years minimum , Leafs had 16, 44 ,88 before 34 came on board

We have no luck in the drafts , never a franchise player with our top picks

Hugo inherited a mess , no magic wand

As mentioned if you build it right a team can have a decade long run of being competitive like the Blues and other teams

Cups are gravy but be in the contending mix
