GDT: Game #30, VS Vancouver, Friday, March 19th, 7:00EST

Yup need to limit to 2-sub .500 10-game slice during 82GP season.....Habs have used up their mulligan for this season

The way I look at it, 1.2 points per game is the threshold for the playoffs. As long as we get 12 points per 10 games, we'll make it.

With 6-of-7 teams in the hunt will be interesting to watch how trade deadline plays out w 14-day quarantine. Van & Cgy likely have moved from sellers to let’s see how it goes at end of season mode - so they’re likely not moving players

Need to keep in mind most players on this team have been programmed to play linear (stay in your lane) hockey during the Therrien & Julien eras - Drouin, KK, Suzuki & Romanov are far more comfortable at making cross ice / lateral passes in what Habs coaches of last 40-years would frown upon as high danger plays.

Dom Dom also has the unfortunate task of trying to reprogram players like Gallagher, Danault etc

Dano can’t be fixed

Maybe the Habs OT strategy is put the most creative players out there together to start:

Drouin - Suzuki - Romanov

They could probably do this better when they were kids playing shinny out on a frozen pond. Maybe they should hold practice on an outdoor rink and have at it.
Maybe they never played outdoors. Just grew up with rigid system hockey. ......3 on 3 was ideal on the pond or backyard, and loads of fun. A game I shone at. Unfortunately, indoors, where there were boards, bodychecking, and not much space I lost my edge...that was real hockey. The pond hockey version has no place deciding outrcomes of real NHL games. Might as well play bingo to decide a winner....said it many times, nothing wrong with the tie.
