So what do those 2 stats mean ? Habs are 30th for what ?

I just quickly calculated the difference in expected goals for and expected goals against into a single proxy that roughly estimates the extent teams are outplaying their opponents (+) or being outplayed (-).

The Habs are bigly (-), 3rd worst. I didn’t have time to look at data more carefully, I whipped it up quickly. Might tinker a bit during holidays.

The forwards have been picking up the slack though. 3 out of 4 points so far. Not tank worthy.

I expected the bottom to fall out, their numbers are not good, but they keep picking up points.
