GDT: Game 5 - Habs @ Bruins – Sat May-10, 2014 - 7:00 pm

The ducks started a goddamn rookie goalie drafted later than beaulieu.... with less ahl and nhl experience than beaulieu... over hiller a longtime starter... and werent scared.....

But therrien has too much of a hardon for experience that he plays the worst defenceman in the league ahead of a rookie whose skating and passing might expose a speed deficiency in his opponent.

For **** sakes

:iagree:

Experience? It's been my experience that Therrien is a dolt. Again, he absolutely cannot think outside of his little box. Then again, why should he when he's getting paid millions to be mediocre?

THE GOOD

P.K. Subban. Seemed to be on an island for much of the night. Almost single handedly willed the Canadiens back into the game. While many of his teammates seemed disinterested in engaging anybody in black and gold there was Subban going toe to toe with Lucic while putting on an inspiring, gutsy performance that spoke volumes.
Brendan Gallagher. No surprise that Gallagher hasn't thrown in the towel. For the second consecutive game in Boston, Gallagher found himself pushing back while Brad Marchand leaned on him prior to the opening face off. He was also flung into the boards by the suddenly tough Matt Bartkowski but managed to get up in time to crowd Tuukka Rask and deflect Andrei Markov's shot to get the Canadiens on the board. Gallagher now has 6 goals in 14 career playoff games.
Andrei Markov. Set up both Montreal goals on the power play. He's playing well at both ends of the ice.

He also goes on to defend Murray.

My question is this, where was Murray on the Bruins 2 PP goals? Therrien had Gorges and Weaver out there. WTF is Murray in the lineup for if not to kill penalties and clear the crease on the PK?

I like Melnick, but Christ is he ever out to lunch. Especially with the stats crowd. All of the best ones, like mc79hockey, agree that there's not enough information available, but they can make general judgements on the way the game will go. Like for example predicting that the LA Kings during the year they won the Cup would be a one of the best teams despite being an eight seed. Or predicting that Colorado would get thoroughly outplayed by Minnesota this year, which they did. Or that Toronto was a terrible team if not for Jonathan Bernier.

But no, let's single out the extremists. That'll reinforce your point.

"Yet it still comes back to Murray. Anybody who watched the last two games and thinks Murray is actually responsible for the losses might want to consider re-educating themselves on how professional teams win and lose games."

There's only one person who's "directly" responsible, and that's Therrien.
