GDT | Game 53 | VS Ducks | Tuesday, February 13 | 7:00PM EST

Not so sure about that but yes, when your second line is Evans and Anderson you have a lot of work to do.

It’ll be Dach/Newhook/xxx

xxx will be the new young guy they trade for

Cool night...bumped in MSL, Hugues, and Kovacevic.....Mrs Rolex was happy

Slaf is a beast.....you can't teach size and speed....absolute beast, his long reach gives opponents problems

As pointed out, without the injuries to Dach and Newhook, they're not on the second line but those injuries showed the total lack of forward depth in the organization. Either way, it's a huge problem.

Yeah but I wouldn’t trade firsts and certainly not top 5 picks to rebuild a bottom 6. Our dozen of defensemen however would be perfect for that.
I'm not convinced yet that Newhook is really a quality top six forward, so I'd be willing to trade that top 7 or 8 pick if . . . Eiserman is gone when we pick. If he's still there, I'm keeping the pick and drafting him, I don't care where he's "ranked."

I think AN is a decent top 6 player but not a difference maker

Gonna give you credit I remember you seeing something in him like 2 training camps ago.
He was one of the last cuts in 2022's training camp and I thought he had a chance of getting a contract then. Wasn't as good this training camp, but he was still among the last few cuts.

I don't think he's an everyday NHLer, but I'm firmly a believer that you need to show people that you work with that there are rewards for those on the fringes that exceed expectations. The Mathieu Darche, Alex Belzile, Raphael Harvey-Pinard, Brandon Gignac types. They all played great in the AHL for us and they're all getting some time (some more than others, granted) on the big club.

For a 12th/13th forward in the NHL, I'd much rather have a Belzile/RHP/Gignac type over Ylonen, who's a cardio player in the NHL. Skates around and does a whole 'lot'a nothing.

I'm not sure either. I also think it's a little telling that Colorado, which is trying to find any type of way to get & keep good players, basically traded him for futures to make space for... let me check my notes... Miles fucking Wood.

In all likelihood, I think he is what he was on Colorado: A useful third line winger that can help in spurts on the top-6, but not a an everyday player on a solid top-6 for a contender.
