Lane moved around so quickly that assignments also get blown. Players don’t cover properly many times.

Yeah. But late in the game, the forwards have to more defensive minded rather than hope Guhle wins his puck battle.

It’s not just that goal or last night — this is a high risk team which is also part of the reason the score a bunch.

Engstrom and Rhino will help next year

There seemed to be no right D for the entire 3rd period. It was just luck that the Ducks didn't score earlier.

Too high risk for playoff hockey. That’s why I bitch about the lack of D all the time. They’re not going to score 4-5 nightly. Especially when the games tighten up.
 
This team is first round playoff fodder. Maybe they win a round if their goalie stands on their head.

I mention their age a lot because if you look at teams that succeed in the playoffs, they are stacked with vets. We have 22 yr olds at every position.

They're also stacked with some players who play a "heavier" brand of hockey, which is not age-related. After we add Hage and Reinbacher there will have to be some significant roster reconstruction work by HuGo.

Basu thinks HuGo are just waiting for Engstrom to get medical clearance for a callup - has lots of RD experience so should be seamless transition

HuGo are apparently very concerned in how they handle Redenbacher & want to act conservatively given the initial fan outrage of the pick…

Let him overcook in Laval and put him in a position to succeed

that's my feeling too....the mid season callups of Fowler and Engstrom revealed both were NHL ready
