Not playing around anymore.
There's only one player on each team that is on the ice for the full sixty, or close to it. It's the nature of the beast. Sometimes it is on the goalie though. It is always the easy way to point to the goalie.

I agree…You're changing the subject.
Monty's save percentage supports my argument. The TEAM would be better not having to chase games all the time. When you chase a game you open yourself up to more.
Stop overlooking the nuances of the game, you know this but refuse to incorporate in your analysis.
You're missing the forest for the trees. R E S T M O N T Y. The more he plays the more he sinks to Dobes level so there is no difference.Dobes ain’t much better, if at all. He’ll play in Philly on Thursday most likely.
You're looking at this from an ivory tower view, I'm looking at this from an in the trenches coaching view. Both can be correct.I agree…
But again comes back to a key aspect of “in da mix” is evaluating the younger players, most of whom have never played in meaningful games at NHL level. Monty is one of those players under evaluation.
Dobes is cost controlled, he’s RFA for another few years.
Diekembe is UFA after 26-27 season - when is his peak market value? 2025 (this) summer after his first stretch drive & potentially playoffs? 2026 summer? 2027 deadline?
I get it . . . but you’re barking up the wrong tree here. I ain’t MSL or HuGo, and they obviously see it differently (I don’t think this is MSL alone deciding). You're missing the forrest for the trees. R E S T M O N T Y. The more he plays the more he sinks to Dobes level so there is no difference.
What part of diminishing returns are people not getting here?
All we have is a board to debate on, if you don't want to own an opinion then don't opine. Or do. Maybe.I get it . . . but you’re barking up the wrong tree here. I ain’t MSL or HuGo, and they obviously see it differently (I don’t think this is MSL alone deciding).
Sometimes it is, like the Islanders game. Not last night though. There's only one player on each team that is on the ice for the full sixty, or close to it. It's the nature of the beast. Sometimes it is on the goalie though.
There are levels to this, Monty was most certainly not good in the first period. Maybe not terrible but not good. Sure he was worse on the island but putting his team down caused them to get away from their game in the first. It's happened before.Sometimes it is, like the Islanders game. Not last night though.
No I don't, even Lalime on TVA said he was bad on the secondPretty bad? nah i think you need to go watch the replay again..
Yeah I’m not denying this either, i even said before the game that i would have started Dobes. There are levels to this, Monty was most certainly not good in the first period. Maybe not terrible but not good. Sure he was worse on the island but putting his team down caused them to get away from their game in the first. It's happened before.
There's no denying that Montembeault is much better when rested. Much.
Not really, Monty is 7th in the NHL in amount of shots faced. You're changing the subject.

Just because you agree with Lalime doesn't mean it is true.. the question you should be asking on the 2nd goal is why was Lindgren left all alone and come in and have a clear shot..No I don't, even Lalime on TVA said he was bad on the second
Sure. He's not stopping them enough. I've posted the percentages. Not really, Monty is 7th in the NHL in amount of shots faced. View attachment 25258
Because Monty clearly needs the practice. Duh.Just because you agree with Lalime doesn't mean it is true.. the question you should be asking on the 2nd goal is why was Lindgren left all alone and come in and have a clear shot..
Isn't it the goalie's job to stop pucks?Just because you agree with Lalime doesn't mean it is true.. the question you should be asking on the 2nd goal is why was Lindgren left all alone and come in and have a clear shot..
no i am not, Monty is not as good as goalies 1 to 4.. but yet there he sits 7th in the league among shots faced..Sure. He's not stopping them enough. I've posted the percentages.
Also notice the better goalies above him that face more shots.
Your just helping my argument in that Monty needs to play less games to be effective.
isn't it the team's job to cover their man in the defensive zone?Isn't it the goalie's job to stop pucks?
He doesn't get a pass because 58 screwed upisn't it the team's job to cover their man in the defensive zone?
