There’s some deadwood on Stanley Cup winning teams. In a 32 team league you’re not going to have 20 great players. You just need 6-8 to build around. Most teams do

With all due respect, what we're watching in the D zone coverage is most certainly not a system. It's a free for all. They do have structure, they are just over thinking on the ice right now.. we are still in the fight, part of me wants them to miss by 1 point so they understand why all games are important, it will be a hungry summer for them . Part of me wants them to get it in so they can experience the Bell Centre during the playoffs.. either way, Go Habs Go
ditto, our system has never been a "free for all", what you are seeing is players missing their assignments and getting away from the simple things.. how many times have we seen our d get the puck only to give it right back.. they are not clearing our zone with authority .. in the offensive zone they are not shooting enough, too many times they are looking for a pass.. do what teams do to us, clog up the front of the net and shoot! With all due respect, what we're watching in the D zone coverage is most certainly not a system. Wehave is stuck in the 70s where Mondou and Jarvis were 3rd and 4th centres, no team has that anymoreThere’s some deadwood on Stanley Cup winning teams. In a 32 team league you’re not going to have 20 great players. You just need 6-8 to build around.
I just skip the "we're so back" steps.
Right. No semblance of a system because what they should be doing they aren't doing. Just because you understand what they should be doing doesn't mean there's a system in place.ditto, our system has never been a "free for all", what you are seeing is players missing their assignments and getting away from the simple things.. how many times have we seen our d get the puck only to give it right back.. they are not clearing our zone with authority .. in the offensive zone they are not shooting enough, too many times they are looking for a pass.. do what teams do to us, clog up the front of the net and shoot!
MD is still in his prime , my top target for a few yearsWe've been trying to find 1-2C for close to 3 decades now.....
I'm not too confident about our chances to all of a sudden find one this summer.
It's gonna be a reclamation project like Dach, or a passed his prime player like Duchene.
Unfortunately, we still need to draft that center, unless management is ready to trade guys like Guhle, Reinbacher, Caufield to get that 2C.
Still dumping assets and cap space was never an issue with Hugo , they were not patching like NeroThe dynamic duo (WeHave and Geeman) won't agree.
That’s 6 potential bodies out the door , at minimum 4No one is getting shipped out - UFAs will organically leave over next couple of seasons as contracts expire
- Dvorak, Savard & Armia unless he’s extended this summer
- Matheson unless he’s extended next summer
- Gallagher & Anderson the following summer
So if the players are not following the system, it is not the coaches fault, and i doubt MSL has lost the room.. patience bud, this team is still growing.. we won't win anything this year, like i said before, if we missed the playoffs by 1, or a few points, it will be a hungry summer for them.. if they get in, 2 or 3 games at the Bell Centre will hype them all summer.. it is a win win imo cheersRight. Holy circular logic BatmanStill dumping assets and cap space was never an issue with Hugo , they were not patching like Nero
Mainly hockey trades moving forwards but rebuild is over when it’s over
