You can point at our depth, supporting cast or our goaltending not being good enough during these various playoff failures over the years. And it’s not wrong to allocate blame there.

But at some point you’d want to see your 60-goal #1 center, 100-point winger or $11M #2 center pick the team up on their backs and put up legendary numbers in a playoff run like Draisaitl is doing.

…and that’s just never happened. These guys just don’t have it in them. In Tavares’ case he’s just not a good enough player at this point. In Matthews’ and Marner’s case, it’s just clearly not a part of their mental make-up.
