GDT: Ottawa Senators @ Canadiens - Tues Nov 3, 2015 - 7:30 pm ET

The irony being they thought the shootout was a great idea only to try something even dumber to reduce the shootout.

Geniuses at the NHL.

yep, 3 on 3 is even worse than it's 4 on 4, daddy. Not to mention awarding 3 pts for OT games, 2 for others. No like. :nono

I still see absolutely no problem with a hard earned tie. Never understood why there must be a winner.

The Ties were horrible. It goes against the very nature of the competition. You have 2 teams coming in to play for the win and at the end, no one won? You had people paying top dollars to go see a game with a results that was meaningless like if the game was never played.

No, I'm 100% happy that the NHL finally saw the light and got rid of them.

As an aside, what was Eller hoping to accomplish on the two on one he had with Belly in the 3rd? He basically skated over and took the puck off Belly then screwed around with it.

Problem is other yank sports actually end games normally not with slam dunk contest, home run derby etc

Get the NHLPA to agree to play unlimited sudden death OT in regular season . . . but they won't so some sort of gimmick has to occur. I actually prefer the shootout to 3 on 3 but whatever, it doesn't really matter, it's just for an extra point . . . which won't affect us anyway this season.

You never know.

The guy has such minimal hockey sense.

I'm starting to see that he went in the 1st round based on good size, good foot speed, decent hands and that's about it.

He also has voodoo powers as he has a cult following on twitter

I've more often than not supported him and hoped he can blossom into a good two way hockey player, especially at center...because like most Hab fans I salivate at the thought of seeing size down the middle but I'm starting too slowly but surely lose out hope on him being anything more than a dime a dozen type depth player
