GDT (PRE #5): Sept 30 - Leafs vs Canadiens (7:00PM TSN4)

Logan Cooley goes #1 if the draft were held today, and there would be no debate about it.
Not if the Habs had the first pick again. They weren't going with another 5'10" center. Our system has too many under 6' guys.

I might take him, you might take him, they wouldn't a second time.

If there were a re draft today it probably goes:

1) Cooley
2) Nemec
3) Jiricek
4) Wright
5) Slafkovsky
Nope again.

Although I could see Nemec.

After learning a bunch of crap reasoning they were not going Cooley period.

Why should I cry about it again?

Yeah, with Wright it seems like the only question is whether he’ll only be a good top-6 forward, or if he’ll be an impact top-line player.

Doesn’t really fit any definition I have of a “project”.

So how do you get him to top line without tutelage? He's a project for a first overall.

Understand that 99% of all players are and were projects. The guys that can step right in? Those are rare.

Slaf will play in the NHL but he's a project?

You're dumb.

I mean, you're just redefining "project" to suit the Habs in this argument.

I don't think we're going to get any further in this discussion until you commit to a definition of "project".

IIT:

Habsy stretching the definition of the term “project” so far that basically Auston Matthews & Connor McDavid are the only current NHLers who’ve broken into the league in the past 10 years and don’t qualify as “projects”.

Whatever makes you feel better about drafting Patrik Stefa…I mean, Juraj Slafkovky, I guess.
