First thing first, it's always good to get a W.
Did we play a solid game? Well, I think we showed pretty of fight, a lot of energy and we competed hard for the 2 points - albeit still with plenty of flaws in our game, especially with giveaways and defensive coverage.
- As I said after the Bruins game, it's only a matter of time the Holland line scores ... they had another solid game, keeping the puck deep in the offensize zone most of the times, and the goal (which was a key one) came off a strong forecheck by Holland, stripping the puck from the dman, then fancy work to get it to the middle, making an excellent pass to Kuley, who picked the corner behind a screened Miller. Clarkson did his part for screening Miller completely. This has the makeup of a very good line.
- Gardiner had a better game, where when in trouble he did try to skate himself out of trouble, creating space and time for himself with his skating. It was Franson who reclaimed the title for most brutal giveaways.
- No surprise Reimer was rusty, but he fought through the game to get 2 points.
It wasn't pretty, but we got 2 points vs. the weakest team in the NHL and taht's what matters. Hope we can play better next game.
