Who expected this from Kap in year 1

If he improves to 50 points and plays a 200 foot game thats a decent 2C

All we need is some C help until Hage arrives , this isnt as dire as some think

Right now this isnt a championship team with our top line forget the second line

2C could be kap. Eventually

But he’s not a playmaker 2C…..a 2C also needs to make his linemates better.

Unless you guys say that’s Demidov’s job on the line, to be the playmaker and make his linemates better….

Thomas is a skilled play driver. That ain’t Kapanen.

Point is, Demidov needs a true elite pairing. Again, that ain’t Kapanen.

The only way Kapanen sticks as 2C is that the Habs find a true top 6 winger to complement 93. Maybe then.

I'm not saying Kap should be our second line centre next year. Just saying rather go with him than Malkin next year.. I'm not betting on a 40 year old.

I don't mind the idea of a wily vet on a short deal. A stopgap that the kids can learn from while we wait for Hage to hopefully fill that 2C spot.

How great would it be to have Geno on that 2nd line right now? 61p in 56 games as a 2C with worse linemates than he'd have here.
