If Savard and Carrier are healthy then maybe it’s just Guhle who had to play on his off side. The issue will be if/when Savard is traded. Maybe they call up Mailloux, but he ain’t exactly lightning the AHL on fire.

He’s ironically the player his new D coach was circa Dallas Stars years - strong PK shot blocker, highly mobile, a bomb of a point shot with strong hockey IQ, who can play 20TOI per game. The anthesis of dipshit.
He’ll help bring stability to the young D corps till Redenbacher & Mailloux are ready
Dipshit couldn't even win a regular starting spot on the worst defensive team in the league. Carrier was averaging 20TOI a night on a team that before this year, was considered a solid defensive team - unless Trotz saw something in his game go off the cliff all of a sudden, this should be a solid deal for HuGo (nothing spectacular but solid)

There are certain elements of roster construction that are scarce because contending teams know their value.
It’s not just about skills, it’s about having real hockey players w skills - Michkov is simply an elite version of Tatar and never will be an actual useful hockey player for a team that has desires to play meaningful games & win anything.
