Habs acquire Alexandre Carrier from Preds for Barron

Why did we need a vet? Go watch Buffalo.
Brunet asked a ''very notable/respected NHL executive" about trading Guhle+Caulfied+1st rounder for Dahlin, and the executive said he'd do it no-brainer...but Sabres wouldn't...

I'm gonna guess it was Brisebois he talked to.....

A top #1 dmen is still needed in MTL....

But if you end up with two #2s on 1st pair that’ll work as long as #3 is high end - that’s where Redenbacher developing into a very solid #2 is important as Guhle should develop into a top end #3 and Hutson should develop into #2

Hutson would be an offensive minded # 2, whereas Redenbacher would be a 25TOI quick first pass, defensively sound & efficient #2

the NHL executive said that Guhle is too injury prone, and Caulfied is a one trick poney....

Brunet then goes on to say that years ago, if he would have proposed Subban+Max Pac+1st rounder for Hedman (in his first 4 years after being drafted), most people would have said NO.....

but now looking back......

While I think the price is fair for a #1 guy, we would have Hutson and Dahlin competing for PP1 time.

I don’t remember a team having 2 PP1 guys ever since the league switched to the umbrella setup.

Nice idea but your stealing from Peter to give to Paul

Habs dont have the depth to do this one

Subban + Max for Hedman would have been a definite win, we we still wouldn’t have won shit with him. Who was going to score goals??
Again lack of depth

The only team in recent memory to easily move D and not create a hole is Nashville years ago with 2 1D and 2 2D/3D

one of the arguments against drafting Michkov was that we already had an undersized top forward in Caufield and my counter was you can always trade one of them

I love Cole but he lacks versatility and can only score in one fashion

If we draft Misa or Martone I’d be very open to trading Caufield, even though like you, I’m a big fan of his. If we draft Schaefer, not so much.

Really liking Schaefer though. Looking like a legit #1 D and we all know we need one. Is Hagens a slam dunk #1 center? Not so sure.

So is Ovy… I hear he’s had an ok career

What do you mean by that?

Cole is very tradable but I've been liking his game this year.

If he fills the net I won’t care if it’s always the same shot. Besides, his game has been rounding out since the start of last year. He’s not a one trick pony IMO.

Cole has definitely improved and I’m not rushing to trade him…

his goal scoring is incredibly valuable but he ain’t scoring greasy goals nor is he able to deke a man one on one and create his own scoring opportunity

92 has taken away his goals
