The only reason I deal Pleks instead of DD would be for a better return. There is more to hockey than passing the puck to a 40 goal scorer. Pleks is an all-around player that you can arguably label as an elite level "shutdown centre" based on his work against guys like Crosby, Ovechkin and Kreijci. Pleks is an affordable, very consistent player for the Canadiens. Championship teams need shutdown guys, he is the only one we have right now.

As Desharnais is the only offensive centre we have right now. Plekanec can fetch something valuable and his role can be taken by either de la Rose, Eller or Malhotra in the short-to-long term. Outside Galchenyuk, we don't have an offensive playmaker at centre in our system and in the roster.

But I'll say it again, if he was Dale TheHarnest, we wouldn't talk about how he must absolutely be traded.

MB just spoke to the media and marinaro said that MB knows what he wants to do for his extra forward but that he needs make some calls or something.

Don't know if MB flat out said that or if marinaro is assuming it.

If so it seems he's trying to move Moen

Actually, I would argue that if his name was Dale TheHarnest, he would already be gone.
