Habs News & Notes: 2014 Offseason & Training Camp

As Desharnais is the only offensive centre we have right now. Plekanec can fetch something valuable and his role can be taken by either de la Rose, Eller or Malhotra in the short-to-long term. Outside Galchenyuk, we don't have an offensive playmaker at centre in our system and in the roster.

But I'll say it again, if he was Dale TheHarnest, we wouldn't talk about how he must absolutely be traded.

If he was Dale TheHarnest he wouldnt be on this team and never would of dressed for a game , pure political Montreal BS is what keeps him employed . No one right now can effectively replace 14`s value and trading him now makes no sense .

Unless we shit the bed and are out of it by March he is going nowhere , MB will deal with Pleks in the summer.

I dont know how many more playoff failures we need to go through to see that he simply is not a top 2 pivot in this league . A gap filler in Arizona or Nashville , but not a core piece if you want to win anything .

Dude , seriously... give it a rest. What other team's fans would crap all over a player who finished the previous season with 51 points in 60 games. It's beyond ridiculous.

I don't get why you guys want de la Rose to be the fourteenth forward.

He's not a bluechip prospect and he's 19. He needs to play, not sit in the stands.

MB is not stupid. If they are keeping him with the big team it will not be as a spare forward. Wouldn't shock me if Bourque is dealt.

Sure, he's only on our top line for political reasons. They even go as far as giving him political points on the score sheet. The fact that he has produced at every level and keep producing is also a big conspiracy theory. All designed to frustrate you and keep the team mediocre. After all having a French player on the first line is more important than winning for sure.

For at least 50% of the fan base.

I want to see DLR go to the Bulldogs and play on the top line. He needs to learn how to use his size and offensive skills to score points, much like Max needed to do. Not saying he'll be as good as Max, just saying he won't become a top 6 player as a bottom line NHL guy... but he might (no guarantee of course) learn to score if he's in the Bulldogs top 6 and put on the PP.
