Habs News & Notes: Regular Season 2019-2020

I know we're all very bitter at the outcome of the past few seasons, understandably so, but I think we have some good players coming up for a change.
 
Yes true, we still dont have game changers in the system. And now MB wants Caufield to stay in college for another year.

I don’t even think it’s a good crop, lots of AHL fodder IMO, which is an improvement since previous crops weren’t even good enough to be AHL fodder.

I expect KK, Poehling, Evans and Fleury to become NHLers, maybe Primeau, not sold on Brooks, the Finns drafted, the ones in NCAA...

If he qualifies for the AHL , CC should spend the year there

Learn the pro system first . Get used to the pace , spacing , and his ability to use his shot and separation skills

Ylonen has the skating and shooting ability to be in the NHL one day and the Finns are usually taught solid defense. It would not surprise me to see him make it. I'm glad he'll be playing in the A now so that we can get a better measure of the man.

This is for contract reasons I suspect. He knows they will not be a contender so why burn a year of eligibility?

Caufield, Romanov and Harris looks pretty good too. A bit early to pass judgement on the others.

Yep. Easier for him to double down than to admit he's wrong.

Anyway, Bergy is winning regardless. $2.5M/yr for a bunch of trades and a few press conferences.

Problem lies with one simple fact...this team has been shit the last four years with this core and leadership group.

The individual parts are all good hockey players Gallagher, Danault, Tatar, Drouin, Domi, Petry, Weber, Price but it's just not working as a unit.

the other aspect is too many players in the same mold, small fast with decent but not great skill and limited finishing abilities.

there doesn’t just need to be an overhaul in the front office but at ice level also there needs to be significant change so that this team can compete when games go out of their comfort zone
