Price will very easily get into the HHoF.
Winning a Cup will be held against him, but it won't be held very strongly against him. It's not like he was on great teams that under performed because of him (That is role is reserved for The Choking Dog). He was the main reason the Habs got as far as they did and in the year where they had the best shot of possibly winning, Kreider took him out in game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals when he was at the height of his game. That will always be a major "what if?".

For me it’s “What if” we never hired Bergevin and instead a competent GM. Or “what if” we actually went all in when we should have and got people that could score instead of the Dwight Kings

When was the right time? Price had a full NMC the year he won MVP 2014-2015 and all the way till 2018 trade deadline had he not been extended
Bottom line
You dont hand out that moronic contract when it was a disaster 5 minutes after the ink dried
Habs were going fucken nowhere , and Price was already showing injury concerns
Team bid against themselves , no team was handing him 7x 12 mil to match
This was the Skinner contract we handed out , a disgusting albatross and now have 4 more years to deal with it
Contract should of been 5x 8.5 which was more than fair and more easily digestible and moveable
Take the deal or get traded and let some other fool deal with it

Jake Allen has excellent stats… when he plays fewer than 33 games per season. It’s a completely different ask to do it as a workhorse like Price has been until last 3-seasons
