Would he not get more than 2M guaranteed on the open market though? In theory sounds great, and he should want a 1 year deal to show he’s healthy because he definitely won’t be getting the long term/big contract he would want this year.

Although he’ll get the most playing time with us, so I guess that’s one positive.

The deal would need to be structured such that he can easily hit say $5M payout with only $2M base counting against cap - the other $3M in bonus
