Hughes on RDS last night said, expectations next season is to qualify for the playoffs
Just dont make any bonehead moves and continue the rebuild
I don't think you need to worry about that with HuGo. They have a timeline that does not seem not dependent on media and fan approval, thankfully.

If there’s pressure, it’s from ownership (obviously), MSL and the new core (Suzuki, et al.).
They want to win.

The only one that matters. MSL can resign if he's not happy with the pace of the rebuild.
no one other than a few trolls on X or boards wants to keep losing (hell even they for the most part are happier when we win).

Doesn’t mean they like it and don’t want to improve ASAP.
Nobody likes it but it is what it is
Decades of stupidity cant be fixed overnight on a total gut job
Do it right , fix the mess and the rebuild is over when its over
it hasn't been overnight
1-2 more years and hopefully move Price`s contract after next year
Need more time for the yutes to develop and if 3-5 dont hit this rebuild will need more time
Best the Habs can hope for is a balanced team like the Blues , no superstars on the horizon

We've seen Buffalo, Ottawa et al who are constantly rebuilding, Edmonton who has 4 series wins to show for McNumbnuts and the German, Toronto 1 series win since their rebuild in 2015-2016.
I also don't get the worry re Price he gives us 10.5 overage

No problem with setting expectations and pushing the players, as long as you don't lose track of the long term goal, which I don't think we would.
Playoff hopes are fine as long as Mailloux isnt traded for Zac Whitecloud or a Clutterbuck type in desperation
Price`s contract is a non issue , overage isnt needed to get anyone but it is dead money
If Dach and Newhook can score 50 combined next year thats a huge bonus
Upfront ...Slaf, Cole , Nick , Dach and Newhook is all we have moving forward to keep

Fuck the fans. The rebuild will last as long as it needs to last and we need to be tanking for an elite scoring forward. If we aren't tanking for one then we need to be looking to acquire one but unless or until we get that player the rebuild is in vain. If they somehow make the playoffs anyway, great, but HuGo should not be mortgaging assets to win now.
Definitely not winning anything if Nick is your best player
