Habs Season Thread: 2024-25 Regular Season

Not the defenseman that I thought was going to be traded, but still. He had no long-term future here.

All but guarantees Barron will start the season here. After that, we'll see.

Matheson-Guhle
Xhekaj-Savard
Hutson-Barron
Harris

One of Mailloux or Reinbacher could push Barron to the 7th/8th D slot.

Wouldn't surprise me if one more d-man is traded before the season starts.
 
I meant more in the sense that, I don't think he's getting traded now. Still need a minimum amount of NHL bodies. If we were dead set on keeping Kovacevic, or if we were trading Barron as part of a package, the other one was staying.

Ugh. Hate Guhle on the right.

More moves coming, I think. Struble is still waiver exempt but has shown he’s NHL calibre.

I don't think there's going to be room for him here long term, unless he can play on the right.

I think Guhle's bound to play on the right until Matheson gets traded.
 
Guhle is on the right by default since nobody else can fill top pairing duty. Hopefully Reinbacher can fix that soon.
