Habs Season Thread: 2024-25 Regular Season

Please present your facts opposed to your conjecture.

I have not. Sucks being wrong I know but you're a big boy.

Came across this one while surfing YT. File under "Another Pathetic Failure". Habs blow a 2 goal lead at home (as well as Roy letting in a muffin from behind the blue line) and settling for a 3-3 tie with Philly in a game that should have been a cake walk. 4 months later they would be humiliated by the Bruins for the first time in 45 years and Jean Perron would get canned.

Like I've thought this season after hearing all the dissing of the Habs taking Reinbacher over Michkov (who I did indeed want), after seeing Levshunov go #2 ahead of Demidov, it all makes sense. Big, mobile, minute-munching RD, with offensive potential, are only behind franchise centers in value. This is Olympic qualifying play:

The only way the Habs whiffed is if Michkov turns into Kaprizov and DR turns into Barron

Anything is possible, of course. Michkov has generational IQ coupled with an elite shot. Great coming off the boards or spinning off checks down low. But he's really terrible outside the offensive zone. And NHL coaches aren't going to let him get away with that. Reinbacher is looking very good so far this year. I think he's gong to make it very hard for them to send him down (but they likely will at least until after the TDL). And regarding Barron, the jury is still out. Only played a shade over 100 games and is 22. Could go either way. Hopefully he's working hard on his deficiencies.

I highly doubt Michkov becomes a top 10-15 stud in this league
