Most points recorded by a player outside of that period was Lemieux with 161 in 95-96. Then McDavid with 153 and Esposito with 152. Orr 139 and 135 points seasons rank 8th and 10th of all time for any player, any position, in a season outside of the golden era of scoring.

I think MSL likes the Heineken-Evans-Armia line too much. I expect Kapanen will get his turn as Beck did w Newhook & Laine w Roy being sent down to Laval and his Habs career likely toast

I didn't mind Heineman with Laine-Newhook, but I think Kapanen makes sense on that line to help Newhook a bit on faceoffs at times.

Don't laugh, but this might be our second line going into next season if HuGo cannot find that 2C.....

Having said that, if Newhook could bury a fraction of his chances, we'd be talking about him as a legit 2C. He often find himself alone with the goalie...tough to defend against his speed

He had no business trying to pass the puck back to Suzuki on that two on one chance last night. He should’ve just taken the shot . . . even if it likely would have been 10 feet over the net like most of his shots.
