I've not lived in Montreal for nearly 35 years. But if I were advising an anglophone player with a wife/gf (and potentially kids as well) where to buy, I would have them avoid areas that are predominantly Francophone. You want the player to be happy, not feel isolated because they can't communicate with anyone. So you point them to areas where the bulk of anglos live: Westmount, Hampstead, NDG, TMR, Nuns Island, the West Island, and, if they're single, downtown.

What you don't do (unless you're hoping they'll never want to resign with you) is send them to areas where they'll be a fish out of water. So the no fly zones are places like the South Shore, the North Shore, Laval, and pretty much anywhere on the Island east of Bleury Street or north of the Met.

Tell the player to stay in their cultural and linguistic lane so as to avoid unpleasant incidents like what happened to Julie Petry in the Brossard Costco.

You seem really out of touch with the times… the Petry’s, Price’s etc went out of their way to make sure their kids went to French schools …

What happened to Julie Petry was due to an uncontrollable event (Covid)

Yeah, and what thanks did Mrs. Petry get? She got chewed out by some French woman who didn't like her because she's an anglophone and didn't know or care that her hubby played for the Habs.

You can send your kid to French immersion anywhere. You don't have to live in St. Basile. And when you go to the Costco on the West Island the chances of some woman berating your lack of spoken French is almost 0%

No matter where you go cunts are going to cunt. Women police each other way more than men. A beautiful woman like her attracts the vitriol of the ugly ones no matter where she goes I’d imagine.

If it wasn’t language some other crazy woman would get in her face eventually.

These guys are millionaires who can pick and choose where to live. Why would you choose a nondescript suburb full of strip malls and industrial estates when you can live in one of the most affluent postal codes in the country?

And I don't rag on Count for having money, I rag on him for having no taste (Disney) or empathy (Why should I pay taxes?)

My last trip to Montreal , had dinner with my buddy at his sister`s place in Beaconsfield

Looked like a nice neighborhood for families

Beaconsfield is fine. The West Island is a perfectly feasible location for players with families who want a yard because the West Island is full of anglos.

IMO the Habs fucked up by building their practice facilities in Brossard rather than on the West Island. They should have made decisions based on what would be more comfortable for the mostly unilingual anglophone players, not the fluently bilingual or fracophone team employees.
 
And Im gonna guess that the Habs can build their practice facilities pretty much anywhere they like and could just as easily have located them in Beaconsfield rather than in Brossard because Habs Uber alles.
