Yeah...my only source of irritation is I added to my position at the close. Obviously, waiting 18hrs would have served me well.

I've been sitting on powder for a while now, have been looking to deploy into the US, but didn't want to chase. This is the type of irrational shit I like taking advantage of though.

there's no source cited that I can tell

and usually the company knows when they are being investigated...and there is a quote from the company "saying, we are not aware" which I have no reason not to believe.

Might be the only cannabis company out there without a single red flag kinda deal looming in the background. This one caught me off guard. The Chicago Tribune is legit though. I don't think they'd publish that without a good source.

But of course based on the accusations here if they charge thumb every weed company is fucked. Curaleaf in particular is far more aggressive and that's public knowledge.

For sure...it's not like some flimsy short selling bucket shop taking drone shots of TRUL plants (remember those fun days? I loaded up and still have most of those shares)
 
The one thing I'll say is that thumb had a weird knack of placing top three in every licensing process. They are where they are today because they were able to grow and expand in the cheapest way possible... Winning licenses. With hundreds and thousands of applicants, they always ended up at the top. If there were shenanigans there I could see some issues. And in hindsight, that makes sense ha.

nobody got a license without lobbying....that's one of the things about these states that are currently coming on board (ie NY)....they want a process that includes winners without strong lobbying contacts (ie not only white/super connected folks should profit from legalization)

The licensing process was supposed to be a fair process where everyone submits an application and they're judged on a rating scale. And thumb scored 10/10 almost every time they applied for anything. Clearly lobbying involved but I recall most investors being super duper impressed that they could put together such a great application. It must be amazing to consistently beat out thousands of applicants to get a cheap entry into a new state! Silly us.

Getting started in this sector was pretty cut throat. Lots of shit obviously went down from everyone involved. Was anything charge-able? We shall see!

Hopefully Ben gets ahead of it and makes a statement tomorrow morning. Take a break from riddles on twitter tomorrow Benny.
 
I spoke to my guy about it and he doesn't know anything but he did say a lot of borderline illegal shit went down in the early days. But he was surprised about the article so no scoop from me.
