Hey Nerds: Blockchain

Why are they bubbling good sir.
Plenty of fundamental reasons as CH1 points out and then there's the basic economic life cycle of emotions/psychology. This is a pattern throughout history. We aren't immune to it because it's 2021.

That has been happening for a long time now.

and outside of the Covid Crash (completely recovered from)...we haven't had a market setback since 2009 (when people thought Capitalism Died)

There's been some juicy 15% corrections, almost always because the market was worried the economy was doing well which would mean JPOW would take his foot off the money printing pedal

Bubbles don't have a time limit.

TLDR: Bubbles pop. It's not a bad thing. It just happens and if anything is healthy.

John Maynard Keynes; “The markets can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent.”

Sadly, I learned that lesson shorting oil at $130/barrel in 2008/09

Bojo said it best. Right now I find pot stocks cheap based on their multiples and comparables. But if you looked at multiples 10, 15, 20 years ago, they'd be fairly valued and maybe even expensive. Times change. Sentiment changes. The market dictates the "rational" multiples and it's almost completely based on psychology. I would never have paid what I currently pay for almost any stock 10 years ago. But the market dictates the price. Until we've gone as far as we could go and... POP!

Until that happens I will continue to take advantage and lean bullish. But I no longer feel comfortable being hedge-free.

And Trump had plenty of emotional/psychological impact.

Yeah. AAPL is the perfect case study. Profits are great but not much better than two years ago, but investors are willing to pay more. You can model a company's balance sheet quite accurately but not investor sentiment.

Yep...so I'm looking for why the bubble would burst now when it shoulda burst years ago.

Who said it's going to burst now? No one is predicting a timeline. Just hedging my bullish-leaning portfolio and will continue to do so moving forward. To say that a 2008 or 2000-like event will not happen again in our lifetimes is being a bit ignorant.

like I said, some people stop believing they can get more tomorrow....they sell...dip buyers step in because that playbook has worked for 10 yrs...whoops it's stops working, so now there's more people who lose faith

narratives get written to explain the slide...more people lose faith...and so on

TL DR Why did Habsy not think the Habs could win three in a row last week and now is planning a Cup Parade?

EMOTIONS!!

Meanwhile most of Toronto is selling the Leafs 30% pullback. It's ugly out here. Emotions are a mindfuck.

Market just feels like it’s in a pissy mood and wants to punish. Great earnings don’t do a thing in this environment. All movement right now is just traders fucking around.
