You're missing a piece here. CH1 has success because he goes long on several tech companies, and not all in on one like you might. You win some, you lose some, but if you're long on a bunch of tech you're probably a winner. Your strategy of going balls deep in a minimal amount of stocks can pay off in a much larger way as it's less of a hedge but it's a bit riskier too.Your tech picks are kingly. I don't know what you look at, and where you get the guts to be on so many of these players, but you da man.
I try to go long on one, maybe maybe two of these guys a year. I am pretty happy with those picks, but shit, there were so many more.
I missed the whole Zoom thing as well. About to blow past $500 now.

I still don't quite buy it. And I certainly don't get it. I haven't really even bothered to try because the run up was so swift that it felt like a lost opportunity after it hit fucking $120. I still don't understand why and how it killed Skype which was literally just pre-Zoom. I don't get why Microsoft instead of going after Slack, or maybe Google for another, hasn't gone after Zoom and just copied their exact product (shit, I figure they probably have but for some reason it hasn't taken off). It's like they all just gave way to this company and said, go right ahead sir.
that's tech for you -- timing is everything. Blockbuster waited forever to stream. MSFT bought Skype and didn't know what to do with it. Google actually introduced a zoom competitor months ago....but it was too late and it didn't stick. It actually caused a Zoom dip that I should have bought.
the thing is, software looks like magic to us, but it's difficult as hell to pull off. the bear case when AMZN was trading at $50 was that one day Walmart would hire a few programmers and take over online commerce. Not that easy...
For sure, but let's Skype was just as much a verb till this came out of nowhere.
