Hockey Media & Business Thread

My cousin lived there for two years with her then husband. She hated the place (and the then husband).
I had a buddy who went for Mardi Gras. Booked his hotel (a Holiday Inn) months ahead of time. When he got to the front desk to check in, the room was 3X more than the price he had booked. When he complained he was told to pound sand because they could just sell it to the next person in line for even more.

I've never been but from what I know, the only part of Nawlins that differentiates it from any other random southern US city is the French Quarter, which I suspect isn't even as big an area as Old Montreal. And like Old Montreal I also suspect that the French Quarter is full of tacky souvenir shops and overpriced bars and restaurants.

From a hockey standpoint, New Orleans makes ZERO sense. Orleans Parish is 56% black and only 31% white. I can guarantee that this group whoever they are, is only interested in separating the local taxpayers from their money so they can make a killing on a real estate scam involving an arena deal. The hockey franchise will be dead on arrival.

But maybe if the NHL keeps pounding these square pegs into round holes eventually one of them will relocate to Quebec City.
