In Leafs Forum History... an anthology.

One of my favorite one liners here was one day when Cork posted a picture of himself.
It was Mindz that posted right after " what a very punchable face you have" ..., literally LOL'd in front of my computer.. why that cracked me up so much i don't know, and it stuck with me...probably cause just about everyone here had that exact same thought...
I might owe you royalties Mindz cause its a line i have used often since.

Not sure if he was mentioned yet, but 24Cups67Forever was a posted i went toe to toe with several times.. Took me A LONG time to realize you just can't win against sheer idiocy, which he had an absolute abundance of.

Looking at the stats back then, mid-9teens to .920 was the mark for good goaltending. 2006-07 is funny because looking at goalies by win, there's this giant outlier: Andrew Raycroft, .894 sv%, 37 wins.

That team was certainly not too bad.

yeah it was pretty good. easily top 10 offense (#7 gls, #3 shts) and it wasn't PP dependant (#14pp), and also #7 in shots against.

Talent was there too:

Top-3: Sundin, Steen, Antropov
2nd-3: Tucker, Oneill, Wellwood
3rd-3: Poni, Peca, Stajan

Top-2: Kaberle, McCabe
2nd-2: Kubina, Gill
3rd-2: White, Cola

sabotaged by the worst goaltending in hockey.

A few random things that pop into mind, looking back at the last 20 or so years:

The Swullet

Floydian's playoff train

"Ratface"

Floydian attempting to fight Alfredsson's brother in the stands after he hit Tucker from behind in game six

"Tuckerfan93", who out of her many outlandish stories famously claimed to have been raped in the stands on Long Island during the Leafs/Isles series

Cross = Backbone

MNIJ publicly renouncing his Leaf fandom with his drunken "Treebitch" rant

A few KB/SENSi gems: "T-1000", "super-elite 3rd liner", "young and improving", "2000's Sens = Islanders dynasty"

That irritating Carolina Hurricanes troll who's rallying cry, for some reason, was "For great justice!!"

White vs. Colaiacovo (who was the poster that was the die-hard White supporter?)

Feistyboy, or something I think?

And as much as he loved White, he hated Colaiacovo with equal intensity.

I loved me some White. He was damn good. Too bad about all the drugs.
Yeah, I loved the guy. He was a big bright spot on an extremely unlikeable Leaf team.

Would have loved to see what a prime, sober version of him could have done in the modern NHL, and on this Leaf team in particular.

White and Wellwood enjoyed a drink or two

Partied with those two a few times during their baby leaf days.

I remember seeing Wellwood in Union Station once. He was picking up his brother, and I asked him what he thought about Paul Maurice. He wasn't really a fan haha. Also did not look like a hockey player at all.

That really was a good team. All downhill from there, unfortunately.

the diagnosis of the problems were all wrong, so the remedies each took the team backwards.

you add a real goalie and another first line forward to that team and it's a really good team.

A couple of others as I updated the OP.

- Sundin's broken stick incident
- the lockout season (2004-05), kept the gang together for a year without a single hockey game to talk about.
- the Mark Bell trade
- kb shitting on "Phanoaf", only to have him traded to his team
