Kirby Dach, Montreal Canadien

I dunno either....but the calculation is that Dach >> the 13th pick in this year's draft
I wanted Yurov who I think is going to be a star

Regime shocked us all , let’s hope MSL can do magic with Dach

At least they didn’t do the typical patch job crap like Nero and patch with vets

If nothing else there is definite excitement heading into the new season

I am nervous but hopeful regarding Dach. Time will tell. This is a grace period for the new management.

Arber Xhekaj looks nice, but he's a long way away from getting to the NHL.

You don't trade a proven NHL player because we have a similar player to him in the pipeline that may or may not make it to the NHL in two years.

Romanov got sacrificed because his upside is limited, he needs a new contract and we have two players who are pushing to start the year on the left side in October with Guhle & Harris.

Not sold on Dach myself. While I wanted Wright, I'm more OK with Slavkovsky than I am on wasting a 13th overall on Dach. While I understand the untapped potential and high ceiling, his chances of getting to that ceiling are very, very slim while the chances of him being a bust are very high. Even as a bottom 6 center, he would need a miracle to turn around to be good at the faceoff because right now, it's abysmal at something like 35%.

I sure hope the habs can turn him around, after all he is part of the team now, but I'm not hopeful.

Traded a bottom pairing D man selected in the second round along with a second and a fourth rounder for a third overall.

Even if you don't believe he should have been he was easily top 10 in 2019. Top 5 actually.

Its a good gamble with low risk
And it makes the Slaf pick make more sense. Hughes believes that Dach's upside is worth passing up on Wright.

Also, we need to get a little worst because it seems Chicago will give us our money worth in the tank race for Bedard next year.

It's absolutely clear they did not see an upgrade on Dach with either Wright or Cooley.

I'd argue that trading Romanov and getting Dach + Guhle in the lineup is going to be contrary to that. I think we're a better team today.

Edmundsson - Petry
Savard - Whomever
Guhle - Whomever/Barron maybe

And if Dach can get his act together, we have a pretty decent 1-2 punch down the middle. In an ideal world, get Bedard next year, and we have our centerline for the next decade.

Big bodies tend to take longer to develop in the nhl. Hoping thats the case with Dach. The current years draft picks always have the most shine. It doesn't take long to rub off as it has with Dach for some.
