I don't see Evans and Beck as comparables.

Beck is better in every facet of the game and is almost a ppg in Laval. Evans was .67ppg in his first year and .74 in his second in Laval.

Beck is .87 currently in his first year. Better scorer, better passer, higher hockey IQ.

I like Evans as a fourth line center. Beck is better.

And Evans was our second line centre.

I like beck better than Evans and I'm fine with seeing beck as a ceiling of a second line centre.
 
Seems like Engstrom was been playing well lately as well. Would be nice to get a boost from a non top pick

He lost a key year with covid

I worked 10 minutes away and watched him about 20 times , his playmaking and scoring skills are underrated

Elite brain , I wouldnt rule out exceeding expectations
 
In order for us to spread the offense we need 3 decent centers

80-90 first
65-75 second
50-60 third.

In other words two seconds lines, an upper end and lower end. Given quality wingers I think Beck settles in the 50-60 point range.

It would need to be on a very stacked team. Like Dallas or Florida.

Well the wingers are coming

Slafkovsky, Caufield, Demidov. Need six more and unfortunately Roy isn't likely one of them. Maybe on the third line. So even if we include him need 5 more.

Not Newhook or Armia or Gallagher or Anderson etc.

Centers are potentially there in

Suzuki
Hage
Beck

Potentially.

I would like to add another elite winger this year if Shaefer or Hagens aren't available. Martone would be awesome.

Yes Michkov would have been a huge add there.

I just don't see Heineman, Engstrom or Kapanen there on an elite team. Fourth liners they are. Maybe Heineman if he ever puts it together, he has the shot but needs the rest.

Engstrom with the mark streit treatment?

I'm hoping for second pair for him.
 
I don't really want to put all my eggs in the Hage basket. Ideally we get another centre in the draft and move Hage to the wing (or the centre we draft).
 
Looking like the monohan pick will be a mid first (as flames are middle of the pack right now). Should get a decent prospect there as well. Another Hage level would be massive

I would love to get Hagens in the draft but would be equally pumped for Shaefer, definite top pairing D, or a Martone, a top line winger.

Dach figuring out his game would help.

Trades are also possible, can't only bank on drafting to fill out the team.
