Laval Rocket Thread

This is the type of over managing of decisions that cost teams. Why would you take out Primeau against a dangerous team like Rochester?

Laval got outplayed last game too.
Because HuGo don’t give a rats ass about winning an AHL championship, it’s an utterly meaningless accomplishment through the Habs prism - witnessing “in da mix Part Deux”, getting prospects who actually may be part of the orgs future some “meaningful game experience”.

Primeau has no future with the org after these AHL playoffs, Fowler IS the future

Likes of Redenbacher, Mailloux, Beck, Fowler, Kapanen, Engstrom, Xhekaj, Davidson, and Tuch need to be evaluated based on how they handle various in game situations, to better gauge their futures… as potential must keeps vs trade chips

I am leery about Fowler. He has had trouble closing out championship games on at least two occasions in the NCAA. He might not have “it”. I believe BC also lost the Beanpot this year.

But he has great stats though. Maybe he should have been Malle Leaf.

That’s part of the reason Fowler’s playing, gather more information towards evaluation.

A decision needs to be made about Diekembe w 2yrs left on his deal, IF Fowler’s not the answer in the eyes of the org, they likely will need to extend Diekembe to a not so team friendly deal he’s on presently …

No guarantee Laval makes playoffs next year, need to maximize information gathering on prospects these playoffs

His team scored a total of 2 goals in the 3 games he lost.

We need to stop making excuses. An AHL championship is good for all prospects not just Fowler PT.

Last night was a terrible decision.

Those guys will get more playoff ice and Habs brass will get more looks if they can close out the series. If it takes Primeau to do that, then do it.

Fowler will get the net next year.

Bottom line, the Rochester coach made adjustments and they outplayed the Rocket in both games in Laval, So now the ball is in Vincent's court.

AHL championship only matters for AHL vets & lifers. How many NHL regulars came out of Bulldogs Calder Cup in 2007, despite “all the strong Habs prospects”?

Price was the only one to have a 5yr+ NHL career. So how “good for all prospects” was that championship?

D’Agostini, Garbovski, O’Byrne, Locke etc?

Red Wings had AHL teams competing RoR championship year after year from 2010 onwards, how was that “good for all prospects” or the NHL team?

If it was up to me, Fowler would start every game. Primeau is an irrelevant commodity for the Habs organization - the goal is understand Fowler’s areas requiring focused improvement.

Response to playing from behind in a series probably provides more insight into many players vs being ahead or tied in a series.

I never understand not going back with a goalie that just got a shutout.
Because HuGo don’t give a rats ass about winning AHL series or championships.

Yesterday Hughes apparently stormed into the locker room when Fowler was pulled. Hugo were apparently furious at the in game decision

Except that the Rocket also need to make money. They have fans, fans with kids who can't afford to pay for Habs tickets. You can't deliberately screw with them just because.

Besides, this isn't the final, just the second round. If the Rocket advance Fowler will get more opportunities to shine in games that matter.

Except that this version of Laval is the youngest team In the league and is full of drafted players the last 4 drafts.

Primeau is not irrelevant. A championship under his belt only enhances his value. Since when are we in the business of throwing away assets? Goalie market this ugly this summer.
