Leaf Rumours

I think Ottawa will offer more $ to Clarkson, but likely he comes home.

Ottawa has an internal cap of $50,000,000 "Murray was also downplaying suggestions of a blockbuster free agent signing. The Senators are operating on a self-imposed $50 million salary cap." (Source: Ken Warren, http://www.senatorsextra.com/main/summer-signing-season-has-arrived-for-murray ) so they have about 10,000,000 to sign Alfredsson and their RFA. They aren't going after Clarkson, or anyone else for that matter.

Killer93's hints of big goings-on are interesting though, hopefully they don't include an EIGHT year deal to Bozak, ugh.

Kessel is a shy, awkward, nergy type of guy who loves his country and his home state. Toronto, Canada, is quite foreign to him. It is assuaged by having Lupul and Bozak to hang around with, but if he loses Bozak, he is 99% gone at the end of the year. I will take bets with anyone straight up on that, any amount. All that needs to be said, money with the mouth.

And if we lose Kessel, what do we really, really have? Bugger fugging all. JVR and two guys who are NOT 82 game guys in Kadri and Lupul. Its a team that if it was trading on a stock market would be a wonderful short sale at the end of next year.

Have to think Nonis already has another move in place. Grabovski buyout otherwise hurts his leverage.

I hope so, because if he doesn't he just bought out someone that could potentially bounce back and have a 60 point+ season and not have anyone to fill it

are you a psychologist? analyst? therapist?

or perhaps, an analyst/therapist?

Wouldn't be surprised if that is where they are looking. He was offered a multi year deal a few weeks ago and still hasnt signed.

No, I am pretty on top of the Kessel situation. MLSE knows he is most likely to move on after next season and MLSE and the Maple Leafs are forever laughed at by Burke, for what he did to our team. But since this is the business of hockey for the most part, they have decided to really try and place in the playoffs next year and then suck ass the following year.

Otherwise, why wouldn't they have traded Kessel in the period where they could at least get something for him? If MLSE didn't care so much about playoff revenues, they would have tradede him for a nice package. His agent was brilliant and bent Burke over the table and made his last year an untouchable one. So we get nuthin when he walks.

Buying out Grabovski was the toughest thing MLSE has ever done in its existence. They were really holding their balls doing this one. I thought they would wuss out, so I didn't make a call on it either way.

And when that happens the media will continue to jump on the seguin deal as they will think kessel is overpaid

Haha. Just as a joke but would you/nonis offer 6 million for one year of alfredsson. Ha ha ha that would be hilarious

Jeff marek just threw out a thought. Not a rumour but I didn't know he was a ufa in Dustin Penner. Wouldn't that have to be a trade?
