If we acquire Stastny and re-sign him, then you have to figure that there's a good chance that Kadri gets dealt. Not necessarily for Stastny, but in another deal. It seems unlikely that they'd play either Bozak or Kadri in a third line role, and even more unlikely that Bozak is the guy they'd part company with considering his status as Kessel’s heterosexual life partner, the extension they just signed him to and the fact that he’s playing well this year and is our only offensively talented center that can win a faceoff.
 
Sounds like everyone has given up on Kadri. Did we learn nothing from the Steen debacle??

Kadri is a PPG center when the dust settles. It'd be ridiculous to trade him unless for a player around the same age and clearly better than him.

That's still majorly up for debate.
 
I'm just glad Kadri scoring at a 50+ pt pace as a 23yr old is now a "dissappointing" performance from him.
 
I'm not concerned about any of it. Kadri just had 9/10 game slump. That is all. And it looks like he came out of it the other night.

Prior to this recent dip he was playing at a 60 point pace.
 
Kadri had 16 in his first 20gms (67pt pace), and 9 in his last 20gms (37pt pace).

I am glad that we're upset by a 20gm funk for Kadri but it's really not a big deal.
 
GMS 01-10: 3gls, 8pts
GMS 11-20: 3gls, 8pts
GMS 21-30: 4gls, 6pts
GMS 31-40: 1gls, 3pts

actually leafman is right - it's really only a ~10gm slump.
 
We all know how ****ing impossible it is to find a young scoring center in this day and age of the NHL.

It'd be the pinnacle of stupidity to part with the one that we have just because he hasn't fully established himself at 23.
 
I'm pretty sure any/all trade talk will do 1 of 2 things.. make Kadri work a little harder and/or net us a better 1st/2nd line center.
 
for what it's worth, Kadri leads the leafs in both Corsi On and Corsi Rel, and that's with middle of the pack corsi qualcomp.

Agreed. I sincerely hope that the coaching staff and management feel the same way.
 
This seem typical of the Leafs to lose patience on young players only to regret trading them away. If they want an impact first-line or second-line center whose going to make an immediate impact; they should quit dicking around and pull the trigger at the draft. Kadri is only 23, in his first FULL season and on pace for 50pts...management must be expecting Tavares like numbers.
 
To single out any one player and say, oh, they're underperforming or not developing as quickly as expected, would be completely silly.

That can be said of EVERY player right now, which is why it's patently obvious that coaching is the problem and a change need to be made there.

Let's give Dougie a shot at the helm.
 
tell the players to vote and pick their own system they want to play.

then let a laptop create lines and distribute minutes based on performance.

no coach needed.
