6M is crazy. Leafs better not get involved.

This article mentions 8 years and $40M
Bozak will end up with something like 4-4.5 mill over 3-5 years.
Oh, I'm sure he'll sign somewhere, and no doubt he is a useful player. I think it's all going to depend how long Bozak sticks to his contract demands. If he stays firm in his demand for something in the neighourhood of eight years and 5 million per season once the initial free agent flurry has happened and it's a few weeks into free agency, then I think he'll be screwed.I think someone will sign Bozak. He is a great faceoff man, and has a good reputation. And everyone is looking for centers.
I do agree that there could be some bargains in August though. And Mac could be one of those guys. And I'd much rather have him back than Bozak.
Hal Gill is on waivers, could be a good no 6 option if he hasn't gotten too old.
Our defense is jammed as is: Phaneuf/Gunnar, Gardiner/Franson, Liles/O'Byrne and that's assuming Fraser doesn't return and Rielly doesn't make the roster. The question you have to ask yourself is this "Is Hal Gill a more effective player at 39 then O'Byrne is?" that's what it hinges on IMO.
