Leaf Rumours

Mac T will offer up the most. He is looking to make some bold moves.

Not to concerned about the Sens out bidding with inspector clouseaus internal cap.

That's encouraging to hear. Not ready to overpay.... atleast to the extent that the other teams are anyway.

Have to believe Clarkson and Bozak are joining TML tomorrow. My guess is matching $4.5 million multi-year contracts. Hope Mac signs on as well on a bargain-basement discount type of deal.

As long as they play Kadri with Phil, I don't mind keeping Bozie for his face-off savvy. Him signing on would pretty much guarantee that Phil stays too which can't be overlooked.

Hopefully he plays on the 2nd line with Naz taking his rightful spot on the top line. Don't mind Bozak as the 2nd line centre, personally. But again, this would be an overpayment (just like 99% of all UFA's).

where does Bozak play though?

does anyone really believe Nonis thinks this guy with Kessel is a good idea?

there's no room.

Right now there is only 3 centres (Kadri, Bolland, Mcclement), assuming we sign Bozak and don't acquire a true #1C then he either anchors the Kessel line OR he plays on the 3rd (2nd scoring line).

Carlyle loves to use his 2nd line as the "shutdown line", doubt Bozak plays there over Bolland. Lets say its Bozak/Kadri/Bolland/Mcclement going forward then it will likely be

1. Bozak
2. Bolland
3. Kadri
4. Mcclement

Bolland was acquired to be the third line centre. I cannot see him playing more minutes at ES than Kadri.

A lot of people in the media are expecting some significant moves for the Leafs in the next 24 to 48 hrs; Nonis will make a splash IMO

Well we have 12 guys under contract, so that's probably not too surprising. We'll obviously be busy. Two major holes at 2nd line center and 2nd line right wing, and then a smaller hole at 3rd line wing that can probably be filled from within if needed.. or we coudl sign Cooke. I vote Cooke.

I dont think he does IMO, he still has to resign Bozak/Kadri/Franson/Bernier (I think but I could be wrong on him), that doesn't leave that much wiggle room after, maybe he signs one guy like a Clarkson or a Weiss (god forbid), but I just don't see him making a splash a) it's not his style b) theres not much out there big names wise.
