Leaf Rumours

You can argue that leaving two important players to sign with only 4.6m left is stupid - and most agree.

But what the hell does this have to do with Phaneuf?

Aren't you upset we don't have enough cap space to sign Jake Horton?
 
Phaneuf is underpaid at 6.5M. He would have got 7-8M on the open market.

If they actually wanted to trade him, they could get a lot in return. But there aren't many players like him in the NHL, so they will re-sign him.
 
Franson is our best defenceman now, and Kadri is our top center. And no one here thinks that my theory is correct? Kadri wants 5 million and so does Franson.

You ALL think Nonis miscalculated by 5.4 million dollars? Shame on you all. Totally Fred. Phaneuf is a pariah. Not wanted. Not worth shit now.
 
Franson played well for half a season and got sheltered minutes. Let's see him have Dion's role before you anoint him the next Larry Robinson.

Absolutely. Hearing him being terribly "Overpaid" @ 6.5 million is a joke.
 
It's so weird that carlyle would rely so much more on pariahneuf than the next larry robinson.

And even weirder that team canada woyld invite pariahneuf and not the next larry robinson.
 
I don't get it. If anything Phaneuf actually plays a style more like Robinson did. He is only missing the breakout speed Larry had. Where does Franson being the next Robinson come from?

Well that and Robinson was purportedly one of the best pound for pound fighters in the league to the point that guys like Schultz and Van Impe were afraid of him.

Either really really good pharmaceuticals or really really bad pharmaceuticals. It all depends upon on whether or not you think turning someone batshit crazy is a good or a bad thing.

Just cannot believe that everyone is going around the internet, not just here, thinking Nonis cannot count. He had Phaneuf for a 2.5 million player in mind all along, and now no one in the NHL will try for Phagooof, unless a similarly bad contract is taken in return.

Okay, you are literally the only person anywhere talking about Dion Phaneuf and the last few minutes of that game. Literally. The only one. This isn't inside information on your part, it's wishful thinking.
 
Uhh, its pretty well, along with how much of a choke Reimer is, the total talk of upper MLSE. What do I care about what is being discussed here? We are the public, who know pretty much bugger all about the NHL. Its a business first of all, and that is hardly even touched upon here.
Nonis and the leafs literally begged and cajoed Franson to come back and play in Toronto. Despite him actually wanting to play out the year in Finland.

Now because no one wants Phaneuf, Nonis is sweating bullets. He has totally pissed of Franson, his agent, and every NHL agent is watching very, very closely to see how MLSE/Nonis handles this.

And do any of you think Kadri is happy? After getting ****kked around by this organizations odd couple, Wilson and Burke for how many years?

Nonis was ordered to get rid of Reimer and Phaneuf. He hasn't accomplished either of those orders. He has gotten, finally, an NHL goaltender that isn't a total choke. He also toughened up as ordered, via Clarkson.

But he has his number one dman and his number one center embarassed, and looking at 2.3 million each for the year.

If you guys think things are swell in Leafland, well just put a little more oil in the footpedal cars you all are driving.

Players routinely try to goad Dion into fights, they wouldn't dare do that to big bird. Dion can bodycheck like Larry though, I'll give him that. Franson isn't as physical as either of them.
