Leaf Rumours

How exactly is Kane an upgrade on Kadri's production?

That, and how exactly is Holland a more complete centre anyways? And, please provide historical examples to support your idea that "you can always trade players later on to get that #1 centre". I'll give you a hint too, #1 centres are almost never traded.

Let's be honest, if Kane and Bogosian were leafs, they'd be considered busts of epic proportions.

Yes.

Hell, I've made this point before, if Bernier spent 5 years in the Leafs organization instead of the Kings without proving himself as A starting goalie, no one in the hockey world would have been kissing his ass.

We actually have people like Brooks claiming no NHl team wants to touch Kadri. He's worthless.

You're right ME, right now they're pretty comparable(and if you take Naz's last season on pace hes much better). I just think with Kane getting 30 goals at 20 years old and having some of the tools Naz lacks(easier to get him going, much better skater, great shot) he would be able to give us 25-35 goals pretty much every year(especially with Phil) and 60-70 pts. Winnipeg is pretty shitty when it comes to guys that can feed him so i think he'd raise his game here.

@Pronger84, i don't hate Naz, i just think after 100+ games and knowing his habits(very hard to change those), i don't think he'll be able to reach what some on here say(70 pts or so). I don't even mind keeping Naz, i just think Kane would be an upgrade because we'd get more speed, better work rate and more goals.

kadri = ribeiro both on the ice and in how people perceive him.

similiary, his value gets killed by vapid reporting and an idiotic spotlight.

let's just hope the leafs don't dump him like the habs dumped ribeiro.

There is more to a team then just point production.

Lets not forget these are people and a "team". Some guys fit better than others.

I have no doubt Ribeiro is a very skilled player, but wouldn't be at all surprised to hear that his antics wear thin in the dressing room.

Yeah and teams need centers, not all wingers.

You're going to trade our only real chance at ever getting a #1 center for another goal scoring winger? The Leafs don't have enough of those yet?

Im not justifying the move.

Im just saying i'd rather have a Bozak than a Ribeiro.

So nobody likes the Nuge?

What would you give up for him?

i'd personally move out a lot for him. He is that "elite" potential franchise changing center prospect that we could really look to develop. Im not sure if he'll ever fully realize this potential, but no venture no gain. The Oilers would surely be looking for a massive overpayment.
