Leafs acquire Frederik Anderson from Ducks

I don't like this.

I am OK with taking a chance on Andersen but not at the price of 30th overall and 2nd next year. That's way too steep for a 'maybe'

And how many maybe's have we had? Gustavsson, Bernier, or going back further, Vesa, Raycroft.

In someone like Bishop, at least I know exactly what I'm getting.

Either pay cheap for a maybe (like, a 2nd rounder) or pay the price but get a sure thing.

I hope they are making this trade based on their eye test and our goalie coach / scouts really like they see in Andersen ... they'd better be right.

One thing is for sure- this move will make our team better next season, and if we also sign Stamkos, we'll be a MUCH, MUCH better team
I'll gladly eat the humble pie ... And I wanted Bishop for more instead of Freddie, lol.

Glad to see the Leafs brass knew what they were doing.

Yeah, I think I was on the Bishop train too.

But this is now Ben Bishop's second straight season of being an average-to-mediocre starting goalie.

He needs to justify 5 million per? He has done that already. We're paying him a cap hit less than 50% what Price's is. He's also in his prime and will not be old when the deal expires.

He's just started to do it by fixing his inconsistency this year. But the term is the issue if he shits the bed in the playoffs. Do you want $5m on the cap if he can't get it done come playoff time? Not saying he will. My confidence in him has grown a great deal. Still needs to prove he can get it done, however.

The contract hasn't even started yet. Next year is year 1.
