As someone who was beating the "forsberg for backup" drum for a few years, I am forced to point out that he probably wasn't shit.
Most of your goaltending suggestions were good, IMO, unless there's ones I'm forgetting.
And if you subtract all of the games that he lost, the deal looks incredible!I think we have to count only the first 18 games of his 27 year old season. The last 2 don't count on account of his injury or something. So he was .920!
or make Ottawa retain 50%, which still I think would have been their 'cheapest' option. They really couldn't find another team to retain 25%. Isn't it just like 1.5m for 2 years? Even if it's for a 2nd rounder? That's the part that annoys me the most. It limits them so much more now. That ~1.5m is gold for them.
Glasses has always been shit at trades. I think he's a garbage negotiator. No Toews for 2 2nds type of fleecings. That one wasn't hindsight either. Was an obvious robbery from day 1.of all people to fucking fleece you in a trade, fucking poor Pierre Dorion? come the fuck on. embarrassing.
also seemed like way more of a risk than was necessary given the market/Ottawa's financial realities. that's the part that kills me.just a crazy gamble for #1 money. what a risk.
good questionHuh? Where are you seeing rationalization?

His Muzzin trade was good. So was his Campbell trade. Other than that he hasn't gotten great value in any trade really that I recall.
well now you can become an eye tester againAny time I look at the numbers Murray looks worse.
really made the most of our leverage in negotiations, that's for sure!Glad we fully capitalized on that!
True, that was a fantastic sell-high trade. Recognizing that he was mediocre was great talent evaluation. Credit where credit is due!Kapanen.
the opposite of a fine wine. life cycle of a geezer instead. wonderful.Reg Season + Playoffs
