Leafs' Prospect/Marlies Discussion Thread!

Marlies have turned to absolute poop since they lost Keefe, btw.

So much for him just benefitting from an "expensive stacked" roster down there.
 
Marlies with Keefe: 11-2-3 (128 point pace)
Marlies after Keefe: 9-9-0 ( 82 point pace)

Leafs before Keefe: 9-10-4 (78 point pace)
Leafs with Keefe: 15-4-1 (127 point pace)
 
hockeylover, its teeder, sorry for past stuff. But your posts are right on. Do you attribute this incredible turnaround to the guys being unlocked, Keefe taking over, or what?

I always liked Sheldon Keefe, met him many times, younger than me by a good margin, but he impr3essed me as being really really intent on making a big impression on the coaching ranks,

But this turnaround? This is over the top type stuff, kind of indicating we are the best team in the NHL.

Keefe taking over when we were a game under 500. Its really, really great stuff.

What is your opinion?

I personally will say, we had a lot of luck last night. Every second posters kept saying the Islanders have no firepower, but by my count they hit at least three posts, possibly as many as four.
 
I'd really like to see Liljegren up here. They're prepping it for him.

It's just a case of who can you take out of the lineup? Ceci being healthy scratched would kill any trade value. Holl and Barrie are non-starters, I think (pardon the pun).

Ceci only really has trade value to anyone who is interested in re signing him (or has cap space and is looking for playoff depth), and I don't think you were ever going to get much for him. I was hoping for a backup goalie and maybe a mid rounder out of the deal at most. I wouldn't mind us giving Lilly a run first to make sure he can handle it before we toss him into a sink or swim position where we kind of need him to perform like a NHL regular. If that means "load managing" Ceci, Barrie, and Holl a little bit between now and the deadline, so be it.
 
I think Ceci will have value around the league. I think he’s a late 2nd rounder. Should definitely, 100% get value for him at the deadline and promote a kid. There’s nothing he currently does that one of the kids can’t do as well or better.

I know word is they’re not so concerned about burning a year of Lilly’s or Sandin’s deals, but I kinda am. I’d love for them both to only come due three years from now. Speaking of, I know if they play 10 games this year, we burn a year, but do we burn a year if it’s less than 10 games during the regular season and more during the playoffs? Or is it 10 of both regular and playoffs? If only regular, I’d work one in slowly with the 9 games, and then make them full time in the playoffs.
