Leafs' Prospect/Marlies Discussion Thread!

So Niemela (6gms) leads all D in scoring (2gls/6pts) at the summer showcase.

Hirvonen (6gms) finishes 1st in goals (8) and 2nd in points (10).

Knies only plays 3gms but scores 3gls and 5pts which is the same pace as Hirvonen.

Not sure anyone was upset but it was suggested by a few people who had seen him that he was a lower ceiling, dump and chase guy so a few people (myself included) were like "don't love the sounds of that."

Seems pretty clear he's got a shot on him and a little more skilled than those people implied though.

Looks a lot like what would have happened if a smoother skating Zach Hyman had been born with hands for hands, which yeah, was not what we were originally told he was.
 
Being able to identify talent in the minor leagues is probably the area I'm most confident in Dubas and so he'll pretty much get the benefit of doubt for me regardless even if I say I don't "get" what he's seeing. I get that it's still early on many of his picks but if you can find pluck a Holl out of the Indy Fuel, a Hyman for a McKegg, a Robertson in the second, even his guys in the 60s look pretty phenomenal... I'm trusting you.
