Why even announce anything? They should have just showed up next year with a completely new logo without telling anyone. Why should one of the NHL's most historic team tell anyone when they change a logo that they've had for 50 years?

Pretty interesting. The "Ballard" Leaf represented a total cash grab, and pretty much set up how the next 40 years would look for this team.
