Yep. I don't know why they give players who aren't even in the NHLPA yet any leverage. I get that they have a deal with the CHL in order for junior teams to remain viable businesses, but the NCAA doesn't need similar protections for its product.

If all the other teams have showed interest it's highly likely that several of them can offer more than the Habs. I would gladly take Zegras because he moves the needle scoring-wise and talent-wise but I wouldn't pay a king's ransom for him.

Seems about right to me. 4 or 5.

Because the game is better for the fans when the players have no power. When players have the hammer it's great for them personally and collectively, but not so great for the fans.
