Les Habitants Prospects Thread

I think the reason why hockey is full of brothers and sons of former players is you need a lot of fucking money to get your kids thru the ranks… a lot of families are simply shut out which creates a less diverse pool of players
Less so in Canada, $$ absolutely is a factor as is “hockey politics” but all 3 Hughes bros were refused exception status and bolted for USNTDP.

Brady Tkachuk wanted to follow Matthews footsteps in London, but Hunter bros wouldn’t guarantee him a spot in top-6 so he went to BU, whereas, Thomas Harley born & raised in US, played GTHL U16 to be eligible for OHL draft - something Brady wouldn’t do

Hockey or bust family upbringing … not a high probability model to follow though..

“I think a lot of people don’t understand the way he came up. They can’t wrap their head around how a kid only played probably six years of organized hockey, and the rest was training,” Huxley said. “And can everybody do that? Absolutely not. They’re different. And people can’t let themselves believe that that’s a way to go.”
