One thing that is not speculation is the Habs wanted to sign Hage last week. And his rejection was a surprise (whatever the mysterious reason)

Apparently two players made 200K with NIL and then there’s McKenna. Everyone else made less.
NIL is subject to supply and demand like anything else. Average players in smaller programs won’t make that much - hockey just isn’t that important enough and they’ll dilute the pie. This ain’t Crimson Tide football. Hell, it ain’t Montana State football.

I think we should question why HuGo would trade our future 2C for a winger (Knies)
Maybe HuGo don’t see Hage as a 2C, but rather as a winger in the NHL (like a few have mentioned here throughout the past season)
Pat Brisson used the only leverage he had (stay in Michigan and see how things play out)

Only leverage he has is pull a Cutter Gauthier to force a trade by threatening to go college UFA route in 2yrs or he’ll sign ELC IF guaranteed a starting roster spot as Logan Cooley did
