Les Habitants Prospects Thread

Dogs lost yesterday in a shoot out. Not a great game for Desjardins.

Pacs and Maxwell seemed to click together.

From the Bulldogs play by play guys' Twitter:

The team bus breaking down before the game was a bad omen! On our way back home (should be home at 4 am) for a game vs. the Heat tomorrow.

I guess the farm team took a cue from the parent team and also decided to take the weekend off.

That's one guy.

That'd be like saying "guess that doesn't say much about Gionta" after tonight's Habs game.

You would think he would pick up the team a bit considering he is a first round pick playing amongst scrubs. He has what...one goal since going back? Yuk.

Well, he is a plus 6 in eight games and 4 points, so I guess he is not sucking, but I wish he produced more offensively.

I didn't watch either of the weekend games, but statistics in the AHL aren't the most important thing. If his overall play is improving, then great.

The league leaders in goals & points, for the most part, are career AHLers.

Desharnais won't ever be a regular every-day NHLer, neither will Trotter unless he becomes faster. So I don't put much into getting productivity in terms of points. Would it be better if he did score? Yes, but it's not the most important thing.

The problem is the big team needs more offense from the bottom two lines, so we need him to create more scoring opportunities.

I laughed so hard a few days ago when some guy, who's been watching since the 70's so he must know what he's talking about, said MaxPac is as much as a bust as Jason Ward by comparing the NHL production from MaxPac's second professional season to Jason Ward's 5th professional season. They're not even remotely close to playing styles. Jason Ward is a "scorer" who couldn't score and couldn't skate. MaxPac is a third line energy type player who isn't going to score much, assuming he develops properly, maybe 15 goals a year.

The problem with MaxPac is the same problem with Price last year, D'Agostini last year and O'Byrne from two seasons ago... Once they started to struggle in the NHL, we kept them here to continue struggling instead of sending them back to the AHL to get their confidence back so that they could contribute. And now we're paying the price for three of the four. Price is inconsistant, D'Ago is lost, MaxPac has been useless, but at least O'Byrne is starting to look like an everyday NHLer even though he's still having some troubles.

Dogs got schooled tonight. Outshot 37-17. Craig Ludwig's son scored for the Stars.
